The Melli Feri Book Club
The Melli Feri Book Club began on a sunny day in March 2023. Over nearly two years, this vibrant community has brought together like-minded individuals to explore books, visit museums and libraries in Vienna, embark on book-inspired trips both within and beyond the Austrian capital, and—most importantly—foster meaningful connections. It’s an inspiring, ever-evolving space where people with a shared love for literature and culture come together to connect and grow.

Books have always been an integral part of my life—both personal and, at times, professional.

Combining my passion for the world of words with my determination to integrate into my new home and connect with like-minded people, I took the first steps toward creating a community of open-minded, intelligent, and creative individuals. The Melli Feri Book Club is a unique project because it doesn’t follow the well-worn path of traditional book clubs. Instead of discussing a single book at every meeting, we explore a variety of topics, genres, and authors. Visits to museums and libraries, picnics, and one-day trips transform this book club into something truly extraordinary.

I’ve poured my knowledge, experience, and passion into every aspect of this project. From planning events and choosing topics to preparing printed marketing materials and thoughtful gifts for members; from building its social media presence to crafting an informative and engaging website; from writing reviews to capturing and editing photos—it’s been a labor of love. Keeping long-term members engaged while welcoming new ones has been challenging but incredibly rewarding. Every step has added meaning, not only to my life but to the lives of others in this growing community.
